Rodrigo Hasbún is a Bolivian writer and screenwriter. He is the author of eight works of fiction and nonfiction, including the novels Affections (Simon & Schuster) and The Invisible Years (Deep Vellum).
Chosen by the Hay Festival as one of the Best Latin American writers under the age of 39 for Bogotá39, and named one of Granta’s Best Young Spanish-Language Novelists, his short stories have appeared in Granta, McSweeney’s, Words Without Borders, and elsewhere. His work has been translated into twelve languages.
He lives and works in Houston.
Rodrigo Hasbún nacido en Cochabamba, Bolivia, en 1981. Ha publicado los libros de cuentos Cinco, Los días más felices y Cuatro, las recopilaciones de artículos y ensayos Las palabras y Los murmullos, y las novelas El lugar del cuerpo, Los afectos y Los años invisibles. Le concedieron el Premio Unión Latina a la Novísima Narrativa Breve hispanoamericana y fue parte de Bogotá39, así como de la primera selección de “Los mejores narradores jóvenes en español” elaborada por la revista Granta.
Dos de sus textos fueron llevados al cine con guiones de su co-autoría y su obra ha sido traducida a una decena de idiomas.
